Annapolis Junior Rowing Association (AJR) is now accepting registrations for its Spring 2018 Competitive Season. AJR's Spring Competitive Season is open to all male and female athletes in grades 8th through 12th. No prior experience in the sport of rowing is required.

There will be a mandatory orientation meeting March 5th at 7PM. This meeting is mandatory for all new and returning rowers and their parents.

Practice for all rowers begins the first week of March. Specific dates for returning and new rowers will be announced soon.  Practices are Monday through Friday from 3:45 to 6:30 PM.

Practices will consist of instruction time on the water, training on the erg, as well as general training for cardiovascular fitness, core strength, and flexibility.

Practice will be held at the Girl Scout's Camp Woodlands, on Broad Creek in Annapolis. Camp Woodlands is located at 2744 Riva Road, Annapolis 21401.

Rowers who participate regularly in practice are eligible and expected to participate in regattas. Regattas are held locally and regionally during the spring season from the end of March to mid-May.  All regattas are day-long events and/or overnight trips. All rowers are expected to travel by bus or carpool as coordinated by AJR administration. Rowers are not permitted to drive themselves to regattas.

All rowers new to AJR will need to have a Swim Verification Form completed by a licensed life guard.

All rowers are required to sign a USRowing Online Waiver and to purchase a USRowing Championship Membership.  Cost is $45.  USRowing is our governing body.

Qualifying boats may be eligible to attend USRowing Youth Nationals in Gold River, California June 8-10.  Those rowers will incur additional costs associated with overnight travel to Sarasota.  For the full regatta calendar, please visit -
