2021 - Social Storytime

Program Description: 

In this class, every week we read a story about social issues for kids. These stories help to develop self-esteem, encourage anti-bully and upstanding behaviors, and promote honesty and integrity. They also teach kids some practical techniques on how to deal with teases and put-downs from bullies at school or in life.

Our book list include:

- Big by Coleen Paratore and Clare Fennell

- Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud and David Messing

- Simon’s Hook by Karen G. Burnett

- The Day You begin by Jacqueline Woodson and Rafael López

- Long Shot by Chris Paul and Frank Morrison

- You are a Social Detective by Michelle Garcia Winner and Pamela Crooke

Teachers include an adult trainer and 2 youth volunteers.

Dates/Time: Every Saturday 11:00am-12:00am from February 13th to May 1st. 

Capacity: 15

Cost: $24 for 12 sessions for FCSN members
