Foundations of the Western World is a semester-long course that examines the social, economic, political, and religious development of mankind from approximately 6,000 B.C. in the Fertile Crescent to the Renaissance in Europe.  Emphasis is put on the prominent aspects of Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christian traditions and how they shaped our modern world and the West today. Units involving non-western civilizations may be included at the individual discretion of each teacher. Students will develop skills in chronology, geography and essay composition. The course is designed to dovetail with the tenth grade Modern Global History / AP History curriculum.

This class will be taught June 3-21  from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. It is open to students in rising grades 9-10. Registration for this course will open on February 6, 2019.The cost of the tuition is $1,250. This course earns 0.5 units of credit.
