Add to My CalendarJun 07-25, 2021
Last Date to register: Tuesday, January 1st, 2999

This summer examination will revolve around the study of China.  Students will study China’s geographic qualities, history, and contemporary issues.  Depending on the delivery style of the class, students will also study Japan’s geographic qualities, history, and contemporary issues and discuss the modern relationships between these two nations (in person delivery), or then complete a unit examining global pandemics of the 20th and 21st centuries (if virtual delivery is required).  In all cases,  students will work on time management and organizational skills; note-taking skills, both in text and lecture; and historical research and writing skills, culminating in a brief but well-researched paper.  Online research skills will be emphasized. Students will learn to do scholarly research on the Internet and utilize various databases, recognizing and evaluating high-level websites, databases, journal articles, and blogs.  The course is designed to dovetail with the tenth grade Modern Global History / AP History curriculum.

This course counts towards Lovett's history requirement
