Summer Theater Conservatory: Session One (Grades 2-5)

three-week camp: The Rainbow Fish Musical
Add to My CalendarJun 22-Jul 11, 2020
Last Date to register: Monday, June 1st, 2020

Summer Theater Conservatory engages your child in every aspect of a musical theater production: acting, singing, and dancing, as well as costume, prop, and set design. Students discover and refine theater skills in classes and workshops and then apply these abilities directly to the production. Coached by theater professionals, students gain confidence, get creative in all avenues of theater-making, and make memories that will last for years to come!

This three-week conservatory session will feature two simultaneous productions: For students going into 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, the production will be The Rainbow Fish Musical. Everybody loves the international bestseller and award-winning book,The Rainbow Fish, with its wonderful message of friendship and belonging. Now you can join the magical, colorful world of the deep blue sea onstage! When Rainbow Fish refuses to share their vibrant, shimmering scales, the whole ocean seems to turn against the vain creature. Unhappy that no one adores them anymore, the Rainbow Fish seeks out the wise Octopus who helps the young fish learn that it’s far better to be admired for being kind than for being beautiful. With a bubbly, energetic score and a script that invites wonderful creativity and flexibility, the universal message at the heart of this one-of-a-kind musical becomes much more than just a simple children’s story.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Indepence Day holiday, there will be no camp on July 3rd. Campers who need to take extra days off for traveling must get clearance prior to casting on the first day of camp. Unexcused absences will affect performance roles.

PERFORMANCE INFO: There are two performances of the production: the evening of Friday, July 10th and the afternoon of Saturday, July 11th immediately followed by a strike/pizza party. Campers must be able to attend both performances.

EARLY CARE: Early drop-off, from 8:00am-8:45am, is available for purchase by the week as a registration add-on.
