Coastal Bird Studies for Teens 2023, 2nd session

Take a week of riveting field trips to habitats as diverse as offshore puffin islands, windswept blueberry barrens, lush grasslands, and sphagnum bog forests add some of the most respected bird experts in the country, and you have Coastal Maine Bird Studies for Teens on Hog Island. Teens must be between the ages of 14-17 when camp is in session.

In this course teens will explore all things avian, from basic bird biology to nesting behavior, songs, migration and conservation. Learn in small-group settings from pros as they teach everything from bird-banding techniques, bird photography and bird song recording.

This program includes the opportunity to observe Audubons seabird conservation field research in action, and is the only Hog Island program that lands participants on Eastern Egg Rock during the puffin breeding season.
