Junior Team Dues

Please thoroughly review the standard payment schedules and dues & fundraising policies below.

2021-2022 Junior Rowing Team dues: $1,850 for Varsity (returning) and Novice (first year) rowers and coxswains.

Mid-season registration: dues may be prorated for athletes who begin rowing after September 2021.

Sibling Credit: families with two or more athletes on the Junior Team may email Holly at aed@rivercityrowing.org to apply the 10% sibling credit to the second athlete's registration. Please email Holly prior to registering.

Dues pay our paid coaches for instruction and team coordination they provide; cover racing fees and transportation of equipment for local and regional races; contribute to equipment and facility maintenance and repairs; provide members with USRowing membership and insurance; and contribute to management of the Junior program and Club. Below are the three items not covered by dues, that may apply to your athlete.

Additional Jr Team expenses:

  1. Junior Team fundraising commitment, $225. See note below.

  2. Racing uniform, approx. $78.00. Uniforms should last for several seasons. Other optional RCRC apparel will be available at an additional cost but only the racing uniform is required.

  3. Travel expenses may incur for athletes attending a 'select' regatta. Regattas which all squads attend are included in membership dues. Approximate costs for 'select' regattas are:

    1. Annual Travel Regatta (select varsity athletes): ~$350

    2. USRowing Youth Nationals (select & qualifying varsity athletes): ~$800-$1,100

Dues Policies:

  1. For scholarship information, including modified payment schedules, see the Junior Crew Registration Page. Please see the information listed and reach out early if you plan to submit an application, so we can review the application and provide you with directions to register

  2. Membership dues are annual, non-refundable, and not prorated for athletes who leave the team before the end of the season.

  3. Early season drop date: athletes who choose not to continue rowing after September 2021 must notify RCRC by September 30, 2021 to cancel their membership and the remaining dues installments. This means that Athletes who drop will have paid the initial deposit of $150 but are released from all future dues installments.

Fundraising Commitment

Fundraising is what helps keep our dues as affordable as possible.  If we succeed as a team on our fundraisers we will first and foremost be able to cover our expenses and keep our dues low, but hopefully be able to then help fund things that can further enhance the rowers’ experience such as equipment (boats, oars, ergs, etc), buses for away travel, attendance at more regattas, and a host of other opportunities as they arise.

We have been able to keep annual dues low and still purchase equipment our current rowers use due to past fundraising efforts. Fundraising is an essential part of our program to support our current rowers and pass this support on to future rowers.

2021-2022 Fundraising Commitment: $225 per athlete

Mid-season Fundraising Commitment: athletes who join RCRC after the Row-a-thon fundraiser in late fall 2021 are committed to raising $125.

Athletes who have not raised their commitment amount by March 7, 2022 will be asked to pay the difference.

There will be several opportunities during the year to help accomplish this goal however the main opportunity for your athlete to reach their fundraising commitment is the annual Row-A-Thon in late fall. RCRC will provide the instructions for rowers/coxswains to solicit donations from their friends and family, which athletes will earn by rowing a certain number of meters at two team workouts.
